On old account.

A simple action to extract lineart from it's background in one click.

Works best on BLACK lines with a WHITE background.
Will turn a colour/RBG picture to greyscale and won't extract completely.

Would be helpful if people fave so I can know it's helping people. <3

Download, open photoshop, go to the actions tab, click on the downwards pointing arrow, load the action (from wherever you saved it) and press play.

OR

Copy the action into Program files >> Adobe >> Adobe Photoshop CS(whatever version) >> Presets >> Actions. Restart Photoshop. Find in the Actions tab.

Tested on all of the CS Edition's and PS 7. I'll be happy to help if you still can't get it to work.

Hello, I think making this is a great idea, I just downloaded and tried out - works! :D my only question is - the newly made layer with lineart did not change to grayscale. it remained RGB, but it ceased to react to stuff like levels, brightness/contrast, dodge, burn, blend mode. Is it normal? O_o"
I don't see any reason for it to act like this, heeelp ;_;

Well the newly made layer is suppose to change back to RGB at the end so that is normal.
Okay I just tried it out myself and the ones you mentioned don't work (I'm guessing because the lines are pure black) but if you go to Hue/Saturation, select Colorize, put the Lightness up and then you can pick the hue and saturation. Then after that the levels, etc. should work on the coloured lines.
Hope that helps. C:
